Whether in Saint John or Ukraine, L'Arche is a lifeline

Above: Since joining Creative Connections in 2017, Joshua has a good reason to get out of bed each morning. Whether in Saint John or Ukraine, L’Arche can literally be a lifeline for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Some days when I read the news, like coverage on the war in Ukraine, I struggle to find hope – a reason to get out of bed in the morning.

Joshua used to know that feeling well. But that changed when he started coming to our artistic day program, Creative Connections.

“Before I attended Creative Connections, I spent my days sleeping in until noon, watching TV and surfing the internet,” says Joshua. “I started going to Creative Connections on September 25, 2017, and now I have a good reason to get up in the mornings.”

Knowing the impact that L’Arche has on people like Joshua, it breaks my heart to read about the impact of war on the L’Arche communities in Lviv and Ternopil, Ukraine.

Whether in Saint John or Ukraine, L’Arche can literally be a lifeline for people with intellectual disabilities – a sign of hope. This is only possible with your financial support.

Your donation to our Support Our Artists campaign will grow our accessible garden project, help our artists thrive (with stocked art supplies and professional art education), and support the Emergency Fund for L’Arche Ukraine.

Our goal is to raise $6,000 and send 25% – or $1,500 – to L’Arche Ukraine.
Will you help us meet this goal?
