There’s a buzz in the air at L’Arche Saint John.
Is it the longer days, warmer weather and time spent in our garden project? The new flooring and paint job at McKim House, thanks to generous donors? Or perhaps the afterglow from a beautiful farewell party for our former Community Leader, Zoël?
The buzz in the air is all of the above and more. Specifically, there is great anticipation and excitement for our newest program launch, L’Arche Connects, next month.
L’Arche Connects has two areas of focus: a supported independent living model of support for four adults with intellectual disabilities moving into apartments of their own at The Wellington, the building developed by Saint John Non Profit Housing, and an outreach component in the months to come.
With the launch of L’Arche Connects in May, this is a pivotal moment of growth for L’Arche Saint John.
Growth is exciting and, if I’m being honest, a little scary. But I have full confidence that we are moving in the right direction because of our committed team and, importantly, support from key partners and donors like you in our circle.
The need for more and better supports for adults with intellectual disabilities is overwhelming, and we want to respond to it. When you support L’Arche – such as supporting our Celebrate Spring fundraiser! – we convert your dollars to social impact.
Spring has sprung, and with it comes a sense of renewal and promise for good things to come. This isn’t just a feeling: it’s tangible. With spring in the air, onboarding enthusiastic summer students and welcoming new core members through the L’Arche Connects program, L’Arche Saint John is on a path of growth and celebration.
And I’m so glad you’re with us for the journey.
With gratitude,
Rachel Vander Vennen
