Come celebrate World Down Syndrome Day with us on March 21!
Please join us in the 1st annual World Down Syndrome Day Flag raising in Saint John! This event is in support of L’Arche Saint John and supported by Picaroons!
Start time is 10 am at city hall for the flag raising followed by a parade down to Picaroons for a mixer!
Don't forget to wear your funkiest or mis-matched socks to join the Lots of Socks campaign! The idea is to start a conversation, so when people ask you about your socks you can tell them, “I’m wearing them to raise awareness of Down syndrome”.
Join the event on Facebook to stay up to date on details of this celebration.
World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), 21 March, is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012.
The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.
