SAINT JOHN – L’Arche Saint John’s future just became brighter thanks to a $10,000 donation from Moosehead Breweries.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to receive such a generous gift from Moosehead, which is now one of the foundational supporters of the L’Arche Saint John Brighter Futures Fund,” says L’Arche Saint John Executive Director Zoël Breau.
“Moosehead is such an iconic, community-minded company – we’re proud to call them a partner as we look to grow our inclusive housing options and day programs and for adults with intellectual disabilities.”
The Brighter Futures Fund was launched last September at the L’Arche Building Community dinner in Saint John emceed by Andrew Oland, CEO of Moosehead.
“As a community, we need to ensure adults with intellectual disabilities can live and thrive in a safe and supportive environment,” Oland says. “Moosehead is proud to be making this important investment to support the growth of L’Arche in Saint John.”
Other foundational supporters of the endowment fund include the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception and Frank McKenna, the former premier of New Brunswick.
Donations to the Brighter Futures Fund are not spent but instead grow the endowment. The annual income earned from the endowment will help L’Arche Saint John both sustain its operations and fuel the critical need to expand its services for adults with intellectual disabilities.
