SAINT JOHN - Creative Connections, the creative arts initiative of L’Arche Saint John, has been nominated for a “Faces of Fusion” award by Fusion Saint John, in the Community Builder Category. Creative Connections, located at 95 Prince William Street, is a joyful and supportive setting in which individuals with a variety of abilities can develop their creativity while sharing in an atmosphere of encouraging friendship. Participants can attend full day, morning or afternoon sessions where they explore their creative talents, develop meaningful relationships, and collaborate together in a variety of challenging and engaging art projects.
Since 2005, L’Arche Saint John also operates “McKim House” on the west side, where five adults with intellectual disabilities and three assistants live together, sharing daily life.
L'Arche is a faith-based, ecumenical organization founded in 1964 and is now present in 38 countries. Its members, people with and without intellectual disabilities, are encouraged to develop their potential to the full – nurturing personal growth and sharing their gifts in a spirit of friendship and service.
