Together, we are building a more inclusive Saint John

Do you select a theme word for each new year? A word that guides your vision, commitment, and focus?

At L’Arche Saint John, a big theme for us this year is partnership. We want to grow – and plans are underway to do so – but we know we cannot do it alone, and nor would we want to.

Why?

Mutual relationship is at the heart of our mission and thus our growth strategy. When we work in partnership with other organizations, everyone benefits.

Since our inception in 2005, our primary funding partners have been the Province of New Brunswick, the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception, and many generous supporters like you.

When we opened Creative Connections in 2016, a host of wonderful partnership opportunities opened up organically, including the Saint John Arts Centre, the public library, and Third Space Gallery.

This year, we are nurturing new partnerships with the New Brunswick Association of Community Living, UNB Saint John, Port Saint John, Moosehead Breweries, and more.

As we enter a new year of fundraising efforts, we continue to partner with local businesses and entrepreneurs, supporting them on their journey.

Working in mutual partnership helps us deepen our roots and grow our presence in Saint John. With greater awareness, we will increase capacity to welcome more people with and without intellectual disabilities into the L’Arche Saint John community, helping to meet the tremendous need for support and authentic human connection.

Together in partnership, we are building a more diverse, compassionate, and beautiful society that sees the value in each person.

Together, we are building a more inclusive Saint John.
