Above: Jenn Desroches, a member of our artistic day program Creative Connections, shows off her painting to a L'Arche Fredericton member at our art exhibition at Government House.
Jenn is an artist with an intellectual disability in our community who had artwork displayed at our recent art exhibition at Government House.
At one point during the art opening, Jenn approached me and proudly said, “someone bought my art!” At that moment, I knew the event was a success story.
As I reflect on 2022, I remember Jenn's enthusiasm. There is so much to be proud of.
Financially, we end the year in good financial standing thanks to many of you who help us continue to dream of growth for L'Arche Saint John.
On the development and public relations front, we are proud of growing awareness of the need for more L’Arche communities in New Brunswick. We have a great story to tell – and a wonderful audience to share it with.
Now in 2023, we are eagerly anticipating launching our Supported Independent Living program in the spring thanks to partnerships with Saint John Non Profit Housing and Inclusion NB.
Looking ahead, we hope to expand our services as a community to more adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. We hope that this will be possible through strengthening our relationship and dialogue with the provincial government.
None of this would be possible without your friendship and support.
Thank you. Your commitment to building a more inclusive city and province gives us hope for a brighter future for adults with intellectual disabilities and their families.
Amitié,
Zoël Breau
Executive Director/Community Leader
